A field survey of planet RO-20

Life on RO-20,
painted from the cell up.

Twelve plates by Asterian: the organisms and seas of an ocean world, shown in the order life arose there. Every word on every plate is kept exactly as written.

In sequence

The order life arose

From a single folded-nucleus cell to colonies that share their food.

    About

    The world and its surveyor

    RO-20

An ocean world where life is green, lives in the sea, and runs on sunlight. Its cells carry a folded nucleus, a four-layer membrane, and one organelle that does the work of both mitochondria and chloroplasts. Everything that follows grows from that start.

The plates name places too: the Folegrass land, the Arched Barren, Valentine's Bay, and the Circularis current that feeds them. Some carry map squares (V1-B6, B7, C6) from a map not yet shared.

    Asterian

Painter and author of the survey. Each plate pairs a painting with the artist's own notes, diagrams, and the occasional fun fact.
